Attractions
1. Shotover Jet
Shotover Jet is Queenstown’s original jet boat ride, in operation since the 1960s. There’s a reason it’s still one of Queenstown’s most iconic experiences! The thrill of high speed twists and turns combined with the spectacular rocky canyons makes for a truly memorable experience.
2. White Water Rafting
Another way to get up close and personal with the river is White Water Rafting! This seriously fun adventure is sure to get the adrenaline flowing. You’ll start by peacefully paddling down the river, a great experience in itself, before you reach the rapids. There are six different sections of fast and furious rapids along the journey, so you’ll definitely get your money’s worth!
3. Canyon Swing
Fancy taking on the world’s highest cliff jump? The Shotover Canyon Swing is just that! A heart-thumping 60 metre freefall is followed by a 200 metre swing over the picturesque river below. A slight variation on the classic bungy jump, it’s that same feeling of pure freedom as you jump off the edge… with added swing!
4. Onsen Hot Pools
One of the most Instagrammable spots in Queenstown, the Onsen Hot Pools are incredibly popular. It’s definitely one of the more relaxing things to do in Arthurs Point, ideal after an action packed day of adventure! Enjoy a private, hour long soak with a spectacular view and a drink in hand. If you really want to indulge, you can also add on a massage or spa treatment for ultimate relaxation!
Walking & Hiking
5. Morningstar Track
The Morningstar Track is a beautiful short walk that takes around 15 minutes each way. Especially good for families! There are some picturesque views along the way, no matter the season. The track starts right from the car park, and ends at a sandy riverside beach. The beach is a great spot to sit back and relax, take in the view, and watch the jet boats go by!
6. Oxenbridge Tunnel Walk
This is another short walk that takes you to a different lookout over the Shotover River. This one has a bit of a story behind it: The Oxenbridge Tunnel was a failed experiment that aimed to divert the river, with the idea that miners would then be able to access the gold on the riverbed. So, while you won’t find an actual tunnel on this walk, it does explain the steam engine you’ll see sitting in the middle of the river!
7. Moonlight Track
If you’re after a longer walk, try the Moonlight Track. It’s great for just getting lost in nature, connecting Arthurs Point to the Moke Lake campground. Many people decide to simply walk into the trail and then turn around and come back. This is because it is not a loop, and takes around 4.5 hours one-way. Doing a ‘there and back again’ walk means you can adjust the length of your walk to suit your fitness level.
8. Edith Cavell Bridge
Another very Instagrammable spot in Arthurs Point is the Edith Cavell Bridge. Part of Queenstown’s heritage, the iconic landmark is well over 100 years old! Framed by the brilliant blue river below and jagged rock walls on either side, it makes for a stunning photo opportunity. Just wander straight down from the top car park until you reach the river’s edge to get the best snap.

9. Canyon Brewing
Canyon Brewing is Arthurs Point’s go-to restaurant and brewery. Their laid back vibe, breathtaking scenery, TOP quality food, and local craft beer all combine for a phenomenal experience. They really do tick all the boxes, whether you’re looking for something tasty, a place with real ambience, or just good old friendly service.

If you love woodfired pizza, this is for you! Rakau is an intimate garden pizza bar serving up delicious food on the daily. All of their ingredients are locally sourced from around Queenstown and Otago. They also offer a number of vegetarian options if you’re not so much of a meat lover. While we recommend sitting in and enjoying their welcoming service, you can also order a takeaway pizza online.
